Hip Hop Workshop with Dreamstreet

The Dreamstreet Theater Company is a professionally directed collaboration of actors, dancers and singers with developmental disabilities who create community theatrical performances together with students, volunteers and established artists.

This workshop is in three parts.  In the first part we’ll do a “warmup” in a circle with rotating leaders whose particular signature dance moves are imitated.  The circle then breaks out into dancing, where we’ll be paired with workshop leaders.  After the warmup, Dreamstreet cast members have put together a sequence of moves designed to demonstrate a way of approaching hip hop dancing.  Finally we will celebrate the work with a break out of free form improvisation.  All three sections are designed to be interactive and FUN!

This workshop is especially suitable for older kids–8 and up.
